Summer in Val di Fassa: between sports, relaxation and fun

A holiday in Val di Fassa is synonymous with well-being, sports and relaxation in every sense! Throughout the summer you will have the opportunity to treat yourself to days of fun including mountain bike excursions, picnics at high altitude among the refuges, outings with Alpine Guides, routes and walks for adults and children...

There are many activities to do during a summer holiday in Val di Fassa: it is the best starting point to treat yourself to an active summer stay together with your family and friends.

Val di Fassa cycle path

The Dolomites cycle path crosses the nearby Val di Fassa and Val di Fiemme, running alongside the Avisio stream for about 48 km with a difference in altitude of 650 metres.

From the Sonne Sole hotel, continue towards the centre of Vigo di Fassa and then, once you reach the Avisio stream, you can choose whether to continue towards Pozza di Fassa, Campitello, Canazei, on a partly dirt track or follow the direction of Soraga. From Soraga, after passing Moena, you say goodbye to the Sassolungo, the Catinaccio and the Monzoni and continue towards Predazzo and Molina di Fiemme, where the cycle path ends. Once you reach your destination, you can return to Vigo di Fassa by bus (scheduled bus or with the Bike Express Fassa Fiemme service) or return along the route on your MTB.

The Val di Fassa has always been considered the queen of mountain bike lovers, for this reason we suggest some routes, of different difficulty, to try during your holiday at the Sonne Sole hotel.

In the five areas of the Dolomiti Lagorai Bike there are about 100 km of tracks and routes for mountain bikes, which connect our Val di Fassa with the cycle path of the Val di Fiemme, of the Valsugana that connects the Caldonazzo lake with Bassano del Grappa. The Shuttle Bus Fiemme and Fassa Bike Express is an interesting opportunity for families with children who love days on the saddle of the mountain bike and for all those who want to pedal but at the same time admire the landscape: you go up with the shuttle to Canazei and pedal down peacefully along the valleys. Less demanding, but certainly pleasant to ride, are the cycle paths of the Valle di Primiero, the Altopiano di Piné and the Valle di Cembra.

The Grand Tour is a 6-day MTB itinerary that winds through woods, pastures, Alpine lakes and two Natural Parks, Monte Corno to the west and Paneveggio Pale di San Martino to the east. The area extends into eastern Trentino between the Fiemme, Fassa, Primiero Valleys, the Piné Plateau and Valsugana. The routes invite you to explore uncontaminated territories above two thousand meters of altitude between the wild peaks of the Lagorai chain and the Dolomite peaks of Latemar, Catinaccio, the Sella Group and the Pale di San Martino, which have been recognized by UNESCO as “World Heritage Sites”.

It can be ridden for about 6 months a year; During the summer, it is possible to use the ski lifts (free in Val di Fiemme with the FiemmE-Motion Card), open from mid-June to mid-September, to reduce the difference in altitude to be pedalled.
