Throughout the summer you will have the opportunity to treat yourself to fun-filled days with mountain bike excursions, picnics at high altitudes among the mountain refuges, outings with alpine guides, routes and walks for young and old…

The activities to enjoy during a summer holiday in the Fassa Valley are many: It is the best starting point for enjoying an active summer holiday with your family and friends.

Fassa Valley Bicycle Trail

The Dolomites bicycle trail crosses the nearby Fassa Valley and Fiemme Valley and runs along the Avisio River for about 48 km with a vertical drop of 650 metres.

From the Hotel Sonne Sole, proceed to the centre of Vigo di Fassa. Once you reach the Avisio River, you can choose whether to go towards Pozza di Fassa, Campitello or Canazei on a partly surfaced road, or whether to go in the direction of Soraga. From Soraga, you pass Moena, saying goodbye to the Sassolungo, the Catinaccio and the Monzoni Massif, and continue towards Predazzo and Molina di Fiemme, where the bicycle trail ends. Once at your destination, you can return to Vigo di Fassa by bus (local bus service or the Bike Express Fassa Fiemme service), or else return on the saddle of your mountain bike.

In the five areas of the Dolomiti Lagorai Bike project, there are approximately 100 km of trails and paths for mountain bikes connecting our Fassa Valley with the bicycle trail of the Fiemme Valley and with the bicycle trail of Valsugana that connects Lake Caldonazzo with Bassano del Grappa. The Fiemme Shuttle Bus and the Fassa Bike Express are an interesting opportunity for families with children who love days out on the saddle of a mountain bike and for anyone who wants to pedal and at the same time admire the landscape: You go up by shuttle bus to Canezei and you can descend by peacefully pedalling along the valleys. Less demanding, but certainly pleasant, is to take the bicycle trails of the Primiero Valley, the Altopiano di Piné and the Cembra Valley.

The Grand Tour is a 6-day MTB route that goes through woods, pastures, alpine lakes and two nature parks, that of Monte Corno to the west and that of Paneveggio Pale to the east. The area covered extends into eastern Trentino between the valleys of Fiemme, Fassa, Primiero, the Altopiano di Piné and Valsugana. The trails invite you to explore uncontaminated landscapes at an altitude of over two thousand metres among the wild peaks of the Lagorai mountain range and the Dolomite mountain peaks of Latemar, Catinaccio, the Sella group and the Pale di San Martino, which are recognised by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.

The trails can be used for about six months a year; during the summer, it is possible to use the lift facilities (free in the Fiemme Valley with the FiemmE-Motion Card) which are open from mid-June to mid-September, in order to lessen the amount of altitude you have to pedal.
